• 1946 - World Travel opened for business.

Since that time, we have grown to become the 20th largest corporate travel agency in the U.S. (2009 Business Travel News) with over $130 million in annual sales. Our core business is corporate travel management. We have successfully built a diverse portfolio of nationally recognized companies as clients. World Travel operates 22 corporate on-site locations in Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama.

World Travel is an affiliate of BCD Travel and a global partner with Chambers Travel of London. BCD Travel is one of the world’s largest travel management companies with over $12 billion in annual sales and 1,300 locations in 90 countries and on five continents. BCD Travel’s North American headquarters is located in Atlanta, Georgia.

• 1988 - Liaisons Travel, owned and operated by Lynn Beierschmitt, opened in Chattanooga, TN.

Our group, meeting, and incentive division offers customers access to a team of experienced professionals who work consultatively to design meeting, event, and incentive programs that fit the client’s needs.

• 2003 - World Travel acquired Liaisons Travel in Chattanooga, TN.

Liaisons Travel, previously owned and operated by Lynn Beierschmitt, posted sales of over $8 million in 2002, and has 11 employees. They support two corporate on-site locations in the Chattanooga area and have a strong meeting and group sales department. The Main Office is located within the CBL building adjacent to Hamilton Place Mall. Lynn will remain involved on a full-time basis.

This acquisition is part of World Travel’s plan to continue growth outside the Knoxville market. The combined entity will post sales of almost $65 million annually.

• 2006 - World Travel acquired Trip Logics, a leading travel management company based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

• Today, Liaisons has talented team members working together out of three offices in the Southeast United States.
